Travelling (Aimee)

Sarah has been travelling only in Europe so far. She has been in several destinations for summer holidays with here intimate family and stayed there for approximately one or two weeks. The places Sarah has visited with her family are for example: Croatia, Italy, Hungary, France (Paris), Germany (Berlin, Lindau …), Sweden, Denmark and various cities in Austria.
Moreover, Greece, Scotland and Italy are places Sarah visited with some friends of hers. During her education at the HLW she took part in two language weeks, one in Florence in Italy and the other one in Nice, France.

Besides that, she has had the opportunity to do her practical training in a hotel in Letterfrack in Ireland where she spent 3 months which she tells me she really enjoyed. While visiting Scotland and the south of Ireland, Sarah got a real feel of the landscape and what it is like where I live as the Scottish landscape is very similar to Northern Ireland. In Ireland, Sarah told me she worked in the kitchen making starters and desserts as well as working as a waitress. Sarah is really keen on visiting places in the north but she also likes seeing something different concerning cultures and landscape. 

During our stay in Finland we have been travelling together as well. Sarah and I had been in Stockholm (Sweden), Tallinn (Estonia), Riga (Latvia), Vilnius (Lithuania), Lapland (Northern Finland) and some other places in Finland. We visited a lot of places and went sightseeing as well as enjoying the different food in each country. The pictures below are pictures taken of Sarah and I during our travels during winter break in February. The photo on the left is a picture taken with two of our friends walking towards Trakai Castle in Lithuania and the picture on the right of Sarah and I was taken in Riga, Latvia.

On the whole, Sarah really likes travelling and that is why she is also planning a trip to Asia in June, somewhere I have never been to before. As this is something really new for her and the first time she is travelling out of Europe, she is quite excited and really looking forward to this trip.
